In Need of a Stimulus Package

My legs creaked and moaned as I hit the trail on Sunday morning.  As banks around the world face insolvency and the global economies are looking at unprecedented  deficit, I selfishly thought only of my own body, reeling from its own crisis in the form of sleep debt and mileage bankruptcy. As relatively easy as the first few months with twin girls has gone, it has clearly affected my base.  Tough Enough may be a far gone conclusion.  Not Enough Tough?

That's the end of the winging section of this entry.  Sunday was a stellar day!  I began my ascent at the base of Parma Park, one of my favorite semi-secret trails.  The recently denuded landscape is beginning to show signs of life, with tufts of hearty grass now covering large swatches of once fire-baked hillsides.  An hour later as I lumbered up Cold Spring trail,  I ran into one of favorite trail rats, Kenny Hughes.  Ken is on fire right now training for the notorious Coyote Two-Moons.  The Two-Moons refers to the number of times you will see the moon come out if you choose the 100-mile version of this particular ball buster.  Kenny, while looking strong, and keeping a steady conversation pace, said he was bit tired.  Apparently he was feeling the affects of his six  hour plus training run the day before-what a wimp!  Anyways, I very much enjoyed the company, and it certainly took my mind of my off my own severe lack of training.  I bid Kenny adieu at the bottom of San Ysidro trail.  He was on his way back to his car via McMenemy trail.  By the way, his car was parked at No Shooting on Gilbralter Road. He still had a way to go.  I moseyed down San Ysidro Road to the ever-s0-charming Montecito Cafe for breakfast with my family, and more importantly, a ride home.
